Reynaldo R. Rivera, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, FAAN, is the Director of Nursing Research and Innovation at the corporate level of NewYork-Presbyterian. In his role, he has sparked many innovations in nursing practice. He launched and implemented a professional practice model, an EBP framework known as the PEACE model, an academic-practice partnership that links expert researchers with clinical nurses and wide dissemination of the practice innovations through publications and presentations nationally and globally.
Dr. Rivera served many professional organizations. He is past president of the Philippine Nurses Association of America and established the PNAA Leadership Institute and the PNAA Nurse Leadership Fellowship Program. He served as a board member of the American Organization for Nursing Leadership. He was a member of the Advisory Board for the Duke/Johnson & Johnson Nurse Leadership Program and Rockefeller University, Heilbrunn Family for Research Nursing. He is currently a board member of the American Association for Men in Nursing Foundation (AAMN).
He has received numerous awards in recognition of his exemplary and sustained contributions to nursing and healthcare, such as the 2021 Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Award for Nursing Excellence - Marie Hippensteel Lingeman Award, Columbia University Outstanding Alumni Award, UERMMMC Outstanding Alumni Award, American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) Flame of Excellence Award, and AAMN Lee Cohen Award. He is a co-founder of the New York City Men in Nursing and the Columbia University School of Nursing Men in Nursing.
Rey is a fellow of the American Academy of Nursing and a member of the Fellow Selection Committee (2019 – 2022). Dr. Rivera is a member of the editorial board of Nurse Leader, the official publication of the American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL).
