Lee Anne Siegmund, PhD, RN, ACSM-CEP, is a Nurse Scientist II in Cleveland Clinic’s Office of Nursing Research and Innovation. As a certified clinical exercise physiologist, Dr. Siegmund’s research interests are in the area of physical activity for special populations. She is also interested in the study of depression and social isolation in older adults. Dr. Siegmund has an ongoing desire to improve clinical practice in order to prevent disease and complications that may result from non-optimized behaviors. Most recently, Dr. Siegmund has completed work on exercise and COVID-19 disease severity, and published her research findings on reduced physical activity and increased social isolation as predictors of depression among older adults during COVID-19. Dr. Siegmund also chairs Cleveland Clinic’s Annual Nursing Innovation Summit and has submitted several innovations of her own.
